More than 2.62 million Australians care for
their family members and friends having a disability, mental illness, chronic
disease or someone who is frail due to old age. Around 860,000 people are
primary carers who provide informal support to a family member or friend. They
also need financial and emotional support from the local community and
government. To support them, the Australian Government announced funding of
additional $85.6 million more than four years. Many non profit organisations
